Web + UX

Below is a collection of web and user experience design work samples that I've created for University of Phoenix's website. All projects are from within the past 2 years. The general process for these project include many different phases:

Goals

Determining the goals of the project, including metrics for success.

Research

Discovering the best way to solve the problem, determining strategies for where the new content should live, how many pages it should contain, what the call to actions are, and how the general user flow should be arranged.

Low Fidelity Mockups

Sketching and wireframing the general layout of the content, and how the structure of the site, pages and content works.

High Fidelity Mockups

Building out the approved wireframes using prototyping software, such as UXPin, InVision or Axure, and creating any custom graphics using Photoshop and Illustrator. These mockups can also include interaction.

Redlines / Production

Creating documentation, as well as all deliverables for development, including html, css and graphics or images.

B2B Minisite

This project focused on University of Phoenix's B2B program. The university partners with business to provide continuing education to its employees, keeping them at the top of their game in their respective fields. The goals for this project were to provide a general overview of the concept, provide several proof points for why such a partnership can be beneficial, and provide a way to contact the university to get started.

CBE (Competency Based Education)

The university has created a unique learning track to help reduce the time and money spent by students who want to complete specific programs. I created a new landing page to provide information on what the tracks are, how they work, and how students can get started utilizing them.

Program Page Redesign

The university's program pages are a crucial part of the site. They provide prospective students with a basic undestanding of each program the school offers, including important details like where the programs are offered, how many credits are given, and an idea of the cost. The effort to redesign these pages was focused on streamlining them to showcase all important information at the top, and arrange the content in a way that would allow any program page to fit properly.

Simplified Home Page

This project focused on shortening and simplifying the university home page (phoenix.edu). Historically, the home page contained lots of bits and pieces of information that didn't engage prospective students. Once certain blocks of content were removed from the page, I focused on redesigning the layout to accomodate for the shortened overall structure.

Student Hub

The student hub is a large, multi-page section of the site. The brief for this project was to arrange all relevant content for prospective and current students into a hub of pages that all flowed from one URL. I worked extensively with SEO, UX Research and Product Development teams to get to the results below.
